Overview
Hotel Vance is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. In this essential role, you'll be the backbone of the kitchen—preparing fresh ingredients, supporting the line team, and helping ensure smooth and efficient service.
Responsibilities- Following prep lists, washing and chopping ingredients, portioning and labeling items, and maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked work area.
- Assisting with banquet prep and upholding food safety and sanitation standards.

Prepare food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.
Essential Job FunctionsSkills and Abilities
- Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player. Finger/hand dexterity to operate food machinery. Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise move goods weighing up to 100 lbs on a continuous schedule.
- Previous kitchen experience preferred, but not required.
- Basic knife skills and knowledge of kitchen safety.
- Current food handler’s permit (or ability to obtain).
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
