Ava Gene’s is seeking an experienced and hospitality-focused Assistant General Manager to support the daily operations of our acclaimed full-service restaurant. This role is ideal for a thoughtful leader who is passionate about food, wine, service, and developing teams while delivering an exceptional guest experience every night.

- The ability to execute operational excellence across service, bar, and dining room
- Strong leadership presence on the floor, with a focus on guest engagement and table touches
- Support of all operational, administrative, and facility needs of the restaurant
- Hands‑on leadership and mentorship of FOH teams, including hiring, training, and ongoing development
- A deep understanding of service flow, pacing, and quality control through expo and service execution
- Confidence handling sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- A passion for food, wine, and creating meaningful guest experiences
- 2+ years of food & beverage experience required
- At least 6 months of supervisory or management experience (AGM or equivalent)
- Experience in an upscale or chef-driven restaurant strongly preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- A genuine passion for hospitality and team development

- Move throughout the restaurant and office to access food, beverages, and equipment
- Operate standard office and restaurant equipment
- Ascend or descend stairs or ladders to access lighting, storage, or equipment
- Communicate clearly and effectively with guests and team members
- Distinguish tastes such as sweet, bitter, and acidic flavors
- Work in a busy, high‑energy environment
