OverviewThe Job in a Nutshell:
The Vitamin/Body Care Assistant is responsible for assisting the Vitamin and Body Care Managers in the successful operation and profitability of the vitamin and body care departments.

ResponsibilitiesMain Responsibilities:
- Providing world-class customer service and ensuring a positive customer experience daily.
- Exemplifying integrity, responsibility, and excellence while adhering to all policies.
- Creating inviting, full, and shopable departments.
- Assisting in ordering and maintaining accurate inventory levels for vitamin and body care departments.
- Managing margin, driving sales, and overall department profitability, including minimizing shrink and maximizing effective purchasing.
- Ensuring all in-stock products meet company standards.
- Offering and following up on special orders.
- Merchandising shelves, endcaps, and displays.
- Participating in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock activities.
- Training and monitoring department personnel, including task assignments and follow-ups.
- Conducting active and passive demos.
- Addressing performance issues within the department in collaboration with managers.
- Supporting store opening and closing activities, including daily sales reports and cash handling.
- Handling register functions, including backup cashiering, managing customer returns, and addressing complaints.
- Maintaining safety and security for customers and staff.
- Answering customer questions per company standards, including nutritional support statements.
- Increasing product knowledge continually.
- Using SAP, inventory management software, email, and other systems as needed.
- Working a schedule based on store needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position requires 40 hours per week and attendance at mandatory meetings.
- This position has limited managerial duties but is not intended to be the overall Manager on Duty.
All employees are expected to be "hands-on" and do whatever it takes to support the company's success.
QualificationsRecipe for Success:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in grocery or retail, preferably with natural foods.
- Experience supervising others is preferred.
- Experience in vitamins/supplements is preferred.
- Ability to pass food safety training and maintain certifications.
- Ability to manage priorities and stay focused.
- Sense of urgency and excellent customer service skills.
- Highly organized with attention to detail.
- Ability to follow directions and complete tasks.
- Cashier trained, able to count currency.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
