The Job in a Nutshell:

The Vitamin/Body Care Assistant is responsible for assisting the Vitamin and Body Care Managers in the successful operation and profitability of the vitamin and body care departments.

Main Responsibilities:

• Providing world-class customer service and ensuring a positive customer experience daily.
• Exemplifying integrity, responsibility, and excellence while adhering to all policies.
• Creating inviting, full, and shopable departments.
• Assisting in ordering and maintaining accurate inventory levels for vitamin and body care departments.
• Managing margin, driving sales, and overall department profitability, including minimizing shrink and maximizing effective purchasing.
• Ensuring all in-stock products meet company standards.
• Offering and following up on special orders.
• Merchandising shelves, endcaps, and displays.
• Participating in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock activities.
• Training and monitoring department personnel, including task assignments and follow-ups.
• Conducting active and passive demos.
• Addressing performance issues within the department in collaboration with managers.
• Supporting store opening and closing activities, including daily sales reports and cash handling.
• Handling register functions, including backup cashiering, managing customer returns, and addressing complaints.
• Maintaining safety and security for customers and staff.
• Answering customer questions per company standards, including nutritional support statements.
• Increasing product knowledge continually.
• Using SAP, inventory management software, email, and other systems as needed.
• Working a schedule based on store needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position requires 40 hours per week and attendance at mandatory meetings.
• This position has limited managerial duties but is not intended to be the overall Manager on Duty.

Recipe for Success:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in grocery or retail, preferably with natural foods.
• Experience supervising others is preferred.
• Experience in vitamins/supplements is preferred.
• Ability to pass food safety training and maintain certifications.
• Ability to manage priorities and stay focused.
• Sense of urgency and excellent customer service skills.
• Highly organized with attention to detail.
• Ability to follow directions and complete tasks.
• Cashier trained, able to count currency.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
