STAFF GEOLOGIST / STAFF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A STAFF GEOLOGIST/SCIENTIST

Under the supervision of a Senior Geologist, you support a wide range of projects including emergency response, Phase 1 environmental site assessments, soil and groundwater characterization, air sampling, remediation system operation and maintenance, lithologic logging and well construction monitoring, water and wastewater treatment facility monitoring, and water resources activities. You conduct field work, enforce health and safety procedures, interact with clients and contractors, and maintain accurate administrative records.

Reports are prepared daily for Senior and Associate Scientists ensuring on‑time, on‑budget project delivery.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology or Environmental Science
  • Zero to two years of environmental‑related work experience
  • Ability to work outdoors, traverse moderate terrain and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Technical writing competency
  • Strong technical and computer skills
  • Self‑starter, quick learner and effective communication skills
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • GIS experience (a plus)
Work Schedule

Full‑time (Monday‑Friday) with occasional travel, weekend work, one to two overnight sampling assignments per quarter, and potential emergency deployments of up to two to three weeks.
