DutiesSpecial agents carry out investigations and protection assignments, potentially across multiple duty stations nationwide and abroad.

Requirements- U.S. citizenship
- Valid driver's license
- Firearm possession and proficiency
- Age between 21 and 37 at conditional offer (exceptions apply for veterans or prior federal law enforcement)
- Top Secret clearance
- Visual acuity of 20/100 binocular uncorrected, 20/20 corrected
- Hearing within 25 decibels in relevant ranges
- Drug testing prior to appointment and periodically during employment
- Completion of 13 weeks at FLETC and 18 weeks at James J. Rowley Training Center
- Willingness to accept assignments nationwide and abroad
- Registration with the Selective Service System or exemption
