Security Officer role at Jubitz Corporation – Portland, OR

Responsible for ensuring the security and safety of the facility, patrons, employees, and company assets across a multi‑acre travel center. As a first‑line public contact, this position requires high visibility, professional interaction, and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe environment. Key duties include conducting security operations, performing routine rounds, providing shuttle transportation for customers, following established post orders, and assisting with incident response.

Other duties are assigned by the Security Supervisor and Manager.

• Wage: $21.25 – $21.75 per hour (includes overnight differential), depending on experience

• Security of the facility, working as a first‑line public contact throughout the travel center.
• Daily rounds of the entire property by foot and company vehicle, including buildings and grounds.
• Assist in crowd control, employee escort, and campus surveillance.
• Provide transportation services using the company shuttle.
• Prepare reports on incidents involving theft, loss, damage, or loss of company resources.
• Monitor compliance with OLCC laws in appropriate areas as required by law.

• Two years of security experience is preferred.
• DPSST (Department of Public Safety Standards and Training) and CPR/AED certification required.
• A valid Oregon or Washington State driver’s license with a clean driving record is required to operate the company vehicle.
• Ability to handle verbal and physical confrontations while remaining calm and professional.
• Excellent communication skills – reading, writing, listening, speaking, and facilitating.
• Must be able to prepare written and oral reports.

Conditions:

The employee is regularly required to stand, drive, or walk for a minimum of 8 hours. Both indoor and outdoor work is expected, including exposure to extreme heat or rain. The position requires frequent movement between buildings across a multi‑acre campus. Lifting or moving up to 20 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 50 pounds, is part of the role.
