Job Description Summary

Road Mechanic/Field Service Technician role performs preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime. The fleet primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools and equipment; specialty lines may include large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC systems and oil/gas equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Work on a variety of equipment in challenging remote locations.
  • Develop new skills for a career track in service or operation management.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and diagnose issues on equipment.
  • Make repairs to engines, hydraulics, electrical and other systems.
  • Maintain safety‑focused environment.
  • Use mechanic’s tools of trade as needed.
  • Provide flexible support amid changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Assist with physical demands such as bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 50 pounds or more.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training desirable.
  • 3–5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment (large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC or oil & gas equipment).
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (21 years of age & CDL may be required in some locations).
  • Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location needs.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience with ASE or IFPS certification is a plus.

Base Pay Range

$25.94 – $35.66 per hour (starting rate may vary by position, location, education, training, and/or experience).
