Position: Maintenance Technician II (Facilities)

Job Overview

This position is based out of the Lloyd Corporate Plaza and requires frequent trips into the field to cover maintenance at various Cascadia properties throughout the Portland and metro areas. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The incumbent will need to be prepared to drive a company van to and from work, as that is their permanent workspace.

Program Description

The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and safe operation of building systems and infrastructure within the assigned portfolio. This role ensures that all systems—including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety—are functioning efficiently and in compliance with healthcare regulations. The technician plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, clean, and operational environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The position must understand, appreciate, and respect the differences within our Cascadia community, promoting integrated care, trauma‑informed and person‑first approaches, and a safe, accepting work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Complete and accurately record all maintenance work orders according to priority and company policies.
  • Understand building plans and specifications at each location within the portfolio.
  • Calculate amounts of required materials and cost estimates based on work orders and other relevant factors.
  • Maintain inventory of materials used on projects and repairs.
  • Complete assigned work according to best practice and direction from supervisors.
  • Perform routine, non‑licensed electrical inspections; troubleshoot and test electrical equipment for safety and efficiency using various testing instruments.
  • Replace receptacles, wall switches, light fixtures, ceiling fans, kitchen hoods, ballasts, light bulbs, etc.
  • Coordinate major electrical repairs and maintenance with qualified electricians, as directed by the Supervisor or Manager of Facilities.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs, such as faucet replacements, toilet installations, disposals, outlets, and light fixtures.
  • Conduct scheduled inspections of building systems and property to identify best solutions for remedy.
  • Maintain all HVAC systems and associated equipment.
  • Maintain company equipment, ensuring proper care, inventory, and functionality.
  • Assist in the coordination of renovations, preventative maintenance, and capital improvement projects.
  • Carry the emergency maintenance phone on a rotating schedule.
  • Assist with snow and ice removal as necessary.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or installations.
  • Support emergency preparedness efforts, including backup power systems and evacuation procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Regulatory & Compliance
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures under which the program and company operate.
  • Assist in crisis situations as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date documentation that ensures compliance with all agency policies and procedures and local, state, and federal regulations and requirements.
  • Follow safety protocols, including handling hazardous materials, water contaminants, and biohazards.
  • Adhere to HIPAA, fire regulations, and compliance standards for facility operations.
  • Understand safety regulations and evacuation procedures; participate in regular safety drills in compliance with program policies and procedures.
  • Complete assigned employee training in compliance with program and company requirements.
