ABOUT THE POSITION

Our Rivergate Distribution Center keeps Columbia’s global supply chain moving—and our Building Techs are at the heart of that mission. As a Building Tech II
, you’ll provide hands‑on maintenance support across a large, fast‑paced facility, ensuring the physical environment is safe, functional, and ready for the unexpected each day. You’ll join a team of Building Techs across first and second shift, sharing work based on skills and workload. No two days look the same. You’ll move throughout the building addressing repairs, tackling work orders, and partnering with a laid‑back but hard‑working crew that values teamwork, independence, and getting things done.

HOW

YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
  • Perform general facility maintenance including plumbing, construction, drywall, painting, and basic electrical.
  • Complete preventive maintenance (PMs) and work orders using the CMMS system.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues throughout the building.
  • Support event setup and facility requests.
  • Work independently and proactively review assigned tasks.
  • Contribute to a culture of communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
YOU ARE

  • Comfortable using tools and learning new systems.

YOU HAVE
  • Experience in plumbing, construction, and basic electrical work (apartment maintenance experience is highly transferable).
  • Strong proficiency with power tools.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to work in the CMMS.
  • Ability to lift and adjust materials/equipment as needed.
  • A self‑starter approach with pride in maintaining a safe, functional work environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Distribution center environment.
  • Combination of physical work and computer tasks.
  • First‑shift schedule (Mon‑Fri, 5:50 am - 2:20 pm)
