Mobile Maintenance Diesel Technician
Permanent Full‑Time Mobile Maintenance Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Portland, Oregon.

- Hourly Pay: $37.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 per new ASE Certification (up to $700)
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday, weekends off - First Shift hours: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm

- High School diploma or equivalent
- Vocational or Technical Certification in related field preferred
- Two (2) or more years of mechanical repair and diagnostics on heavy‑ and medium‑duty equipment
- Must possess required tools as outlined in Ryder's Maintenance Policy 2.02
- Pass Ryder drug test, previous employer drug test for past 3 years, DOT physical, Ryder road test, background/vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification)
- Able to take home assigned mobile service truck (preferred)
- Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles
- Understand and adhere to company policies
- Proven hands‑on mechanic, customer‑service and account‑management skills
- Complete repair orders using established company systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Prioritize workload and operate in a fast‑paced environment
- Self‑starter with highly organized time‑management skills
- Detail‑oriented with excellent follow‑up practices
- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Additional qualifications:
SBTIII, SBT
220, OEM diagnostic tool courses, TW220, PM230/PM298, BA220/BA298, BH220/BH298, CF609, AC220/AC298, DR208, and relevant brake mechanic certifications - Valid non‑commercial driver license CLASS E, commercial driver license (CDL) CLASS A and/or state driver’s license
- DOT safety regulated position and safety sensitive position
- Interact with customers, facilitate preventative maintenance, repair issue resolution and new repair estimates independently
- Coordinate work schedules per customer requirements and conduct road tests to identify causes of complaints
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs across A/C, brakes, cargo handling, electrical, clutch, cooling, cranking, lighting, drive and drive‑line, fuel, steering, suspension, tire/wheel systems, and coupling systems
- Use shop management system and electronic documentation to complete work in compliance with safety and environmental regulations
- Maintain accurate service, safety and environmental records as required by corporate, federal and local mandates
- Mentor Mobile Technician II level and perform additional duties as assigned
