Portland homes more comfortable and energy efficient. As a Level 1weatherization installer, you’ll install insulation and seal airleaks with guidance from experienced teammates, build confidence onthe job, and see the difference your work makes.

• Install attic, floor, and wall insulation and complete assigned air-sealing and duct-sealing work.
• Protect customers’ homes, prepare materials, and use hand tools,power tools, ladders, and weatherization equipment safely.
• Follow work orders and crew direction; flag access, material, orquality concerns before moving ahead.
• Keep tools, vehicles, and work areas organized, and complete photos, checklists, time records, and job notes.

Success means completing assigned work safely, protecting the home, and consistently improving your workmanship and independence. Advancement toward Level 2 depends on demonstrated skills, quality, safety, and reliability—not simply time on the crew.

Reports to the WX Field Manager.

• Demonstrated weatherization trainee skills or comparable insulation, construction, or residential retrofit experience.
• Safe use of common tools and ladders, and the ability to follow written scopes and verbal instructions.
• Reliable attendance, accurate timekeeping, respect for customers’ homes, and a willingness to ask questions and learn.
• A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

Air-sealing, insulation, or duct-sealing experience; basic building-science knowledge; and Spanish/English bilingual skills are helpful.

This is hands-on field work in occupied homes, including attics, crawl spaces, basements, roofs, and other confined or difficult-to-access areas. The work involves frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 75 pounds; standing,bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing ladders; and exposure to heat, cold, dust, and weather. You must be able toperform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation and follow required safety and PPE practices.
