Hacienda CDC is a trusted community development corporation that strengthens individuals and families through affordable housing, holistic services, and advocacy. We are searching for a Somali‑speaking Resident Services Coordinator to bring their passion for serving people and the community while tackling new challenges with creativity and empathy.

When you join the Resident Services team, you are part of a team dedicated to their work and the clients they serve. Your primary tasks will include providing support to the primarily Somali residents of our communities by directing them to resources that promote housing stability and resident health, engaging with Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) residents to promote community integration, fostering community building among residents and property management, and more.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Support resident housing stability through resource navigation, skill‑building workshops, and collaboration with property management.
  • Build a network of resources to support eviction prevention, resident health, economic empowerment, and strong social connections among residents.
  • Engage with community members, including Somali families and PSH residents, with cultural sensitivity and in a trauma‑informed manner.
  • Collaborate with the PSH service provider to ensure coordinated support.
  • Complete resident intakes, maintain resident services databases, and produce required reports.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with residents, onsite staff, and internal Hacienda teams.
  • Conduct new tenant orientations, monthly newsletters, and daily touchpoints.
  • Evaluate resident data, program assessments, and information to inform partnerships and resident activities.
  • Coordinate and host monthly resident activities, including events, workshops, meetings, and celebrations.
  • Facilitate weekly meetings with property managers to review rent‑payment data and plan support.
  • Engage residents in neighborhood initiatives, housing developments, and other projects.
Ideal Candidate Must Have
  • Minimum of three years experience in community engagement/outreach, community organizing, or case management.
  • Associate's degree with two years of experience in similar roles.
  • Bilingual English/Somali ability.
  • On‑site availability daily and flexible for occasional evenings/weekends.
  • Strong teamwork, organization, and task prioritization skills.
  • Willingness to learn housing rules and regulations such as Fair Housing, ADA, Reasonable Accommodations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Practical trauma‑informed care techniques.
Preferable
  • Experience or knowledge of property management and leases.
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, etc.
  • Knowledge of Somali community and cultural practices.
  • Experience with mental health, substance use, and homeless populations, especially PSH settings.
  • Knowledge of eviction prevention methods and rent assistance resources.
  • Local resource knowledge (food banks, OHP, schools).
  • Partnership coordination experience.
  • Spanish language proficiency.
  • CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
