Staff Embedded Software Engineer

We are looking for a motivated and skilled software team member to work with a cross‑disciplinary team of engineers developing and maturing our rapidly growing family of counter‑drone technologies. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining firmware and low‑level software for embedded systems in a software development and manufacturing environment where projects are realized with the highest degree of commitment to quality and efficiency.
RequiredSkills / Qualifications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Adaptable, eager to learn, and proactive towards continuous improvement
- Ability to work in a small team to rapidly prototype and develop new products
- 7+ years of relevant experience working with embedded software
- Familiarity with hardware debugging tools (JTAG/SWD debuggers)
- Understanding of embedded system architectures
- Experience with Jira, Git Lab or Git Hub, and continuous integration tools
- Advanced degree preferred
- Understanding of automated build environments and automated test and deployment
- Experience using Video4
Linux for Nvidia So Ms - Experience with embedded Linux (device trees, kernel modules, build systems like Yocto)
- Knowledge of real‑time operating systems (RTOS)
- Understanding of serial data protocols (RS‑232/485, I2C, SPI)
- Experience with application containers (Docker, rkt, podman)
- Familiarity with wireless protocols (Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, LoRa)
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field.
Clearance Level RequiredUS person required; no security clearance required.

Working ConditionsThe diversity of work conditions may range from an environment with little or no physical discomfort, such as a general office environment or warehouse.
Physical Demands- Must have the ability to stand, climb, and occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
- Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine.
- Involves movement between departments, floors, and worksites to facilitate work.
- May be performing physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors.
It is an essential requirement for the person in this role to have a legal right to work in the United States and be eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization and DoD Clearance.
Salary$140,000‑$170,000 annually. Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high‑demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. This pay range is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or bonus.
