The Fitness Coach represents 24 Hour Fitness to members and clients by delivering a positive fitness experience and quality personal and small‑group training sessions that lead to member retention and client acquisition. The coach leverages experience and specialized education to provide premium programming and consultation for clients in person.

• Design and deliver comprehensive fitness programs based on clients’ goals, including exercise selection, varied fitness offerings, general nutrition guidelines, and a lifestyle‑oriented approach.
• Inform clients of available fitness tools.
• Set expectations and hold clients accountable through goal setting, follow‑up discussions, and progress tracking.
• Demonstrate safe and proper exercise techniques.
• Arrive on time, prepared, enthusiastic, and attentive for each training appointment or group session.
• Meet minimum productivity expectations for servicing clients and group sessions.
• Increase member group training attendance through strong teaching skills and the ability to connect with and motivate a wide variety of fitness levels.

• Assist in member service activities such as fitness seminars, training days, and complimentary fitness assessments.
• Build and grow a strong fitness business through new client acquisition and retention.
• Effectively onboard new members by providing professional recommendations to help them acclimate to a fitness lifestyle.
• Coach members on proper use of equipment and exercise techniques.
• Start and finish sessions as scheduled.
• Handle member concerns or direct them to appropriate club management.
• Support the Service Promise of a clean, friendly, and well‑maintained club by racking weights, racking equipment, and assisting with club cleanliness.
• Create, maintain, and regularly update progress for each personal‑training client following company guidelines.
• Schedule personal training sessions and other appointments using company systems at least four weeks in advance.

• Reports to the General Manager and interacts with all levels of club staff.

• Understand principles of physical fitness and proper exercise technique.
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• Adjust and operate fitness equipment.
• Perform a variety of exercise routines.
• Demonstrate excellent customer‑service skills.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certifications received through in‑person training.
• Degree in a related field or current certification from at least one nationally accredited industry association.
• Specialized fitness credentials preferred or equivalent work experience or education in a specialized function.

• 1+ years of experience as a Personal Trainer or Fitness Coach.
• Holistic fitness program design and consultation experience preferred, but not required.

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Physical effort required for daily duties, including lifting weights, squatting, bending, reaching, spotting, jumping, kicking, prolonged standing, and walking.

• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
• Noise level occasionally loud.
• Extended workdays frequent, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Fitness Coaches earn a competitive hourly base rate with opportunities to increase income through session premium pay for each training session delivered. Coaches can maximize earnings with commission on eligible fitness sales. Pay Range: $22.82–$36.51/hour for‑session; $16.30/hour non‑session.
