Come Grow with us! We are seeking experienced Material Handlers at our Portland, TN facility. Pay starts out at $23.35 per hour plus an additional 10% shift premium. Employees become eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance after 30 days of employment. In addition, we offer a competitive 401(k) program, paid holidays, and vacation. General SummaryTo ensure safe and efficient movement of product throughout the entire system. Work in the weld, press, and warehouse areas of the facility ensuring timely product/dunnage movement in your area of responsibility. Demonstrates a Continuous Improvement attitude with a willingness to adopt new ideas/skills using TQPS principles.
Essential Job FunctionsEducation:
Required - High school diploma or GED
Required - Must pass fork truck certification @ NASG
Basic computer skills
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Demonstrated basic math skills
Experience:
2 Years forklift experience preferably in manufacturing
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated experience in safe material handling practices
Preferred previous experience in assembly / manufacturing environment
Personal / Technical
Skills:
Ability to work with a dynamic and demanding team.
Accurate, efficient, & proactive in daily duties.
Ability to conduct basic maintenance or mechanical activities as required.
Ability to work at a fast pace.

Capable of lifting 50 pounds.
Ability to stand up for a minimum of 8 hours.
Language
Skills:
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language (English). For the Mexico division this is preferred, not required.
Computer / Software:
Demonstrated basic computer skills Outlook, Excel, Word.
Plant:
Various types of manufacturing environments.
Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level.
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, Kevlar sleeves, hearing protection, etc. may be required in designated engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas. Personal attire standards may apply.
Involves moderate or occasional presence of some slightly disagreeable conditions, i.e., cold, dust, heat, odor, etc.
