- Aquatic Center role at City of Portland, Texas
Under the supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator, the Aquatics Specialist will assist in the following: organize and program the year-round operations of the Aquatic’s Division including public swim, swim lessons, swim teams, water aerobics, special events and day-to-day operations.
Essential Functions- Organize, plan and implement summer swim lessons and swim team. Manage all paperwork and entries for swim meets.
- Organize, plan and implement Play it Safe campaign, year round.
- Assist with daily, monthly, and yearly program planning and directing of activities associated with the Portland Aquatic Center to include public swim, swim lessons, swim teams, special events and water aerobics.
- Assist with creating part-time staff schedules at the Portland Aquatic Center.
- Other duties may be assigned.
This position is subject to the City of Portland’s Background Investigation and Drug Testing Policy. New hires are required to provide proof of identity and legal authority to work in the United States per Federal law.
Qualifications- Aquatic experience, working as a lifeguard or other positions in a pool setting
- Ellis and Associates International Pool and Waterpark Lifeguard License or obtain once employed.
- Professional Rescuer CPR/First Aid License or obtain once employed.
- Valid Texas Motor Vehicle Operator’s Class C license.
