Job Overview

Reporting to the Seafood Procurement Manager, the Procurement Planner is responsible for ensuring the buyer understands ongoing purchase needs from domestic and offshore suppliers. The incumbent must understand production capabilities of producers, working closely with overseas offices, agents, suppliers, sales and marketing to meet expectations. The role involves contact with outside suppliers, Customs brokers, quality control, production, distribution, department managers and senior managers.

Internal customers include production, sales, marketing and product development.

Accountabilities And Responsibilities
  • Determining requirements for long‑term orders with suppliers.
  • Managing the complete ordering process with suppliers, setting up orders, advising shipping plans, confirming orders, addressing Customs broker issues, and following up with QC.
  • Expediting and rescheduling orders according to the MRP system.
  • Providing feedback to the Seafood Procurement Manager on offshore supplier issues.
  • Assisting Procurement in building strong supplier relationships.
  • Working closely with Sales & Marketing to ensure accurate forecasts for MRP.
  • Facilitating new supplier setup and supporting Procurement module issues.
  • Ensuring suppliers are paid on time through invoice matching.
  • Ensuring accurate input of sustainability information by suppliers.
  • Managing the timely disposition of rejected products and arranging returns.
  • Providing assurance that information is accurate and current through consistent review of data and reports.
  • Supporting and updating Procurement module information.
Qualifications
  • University degree in business or related field.
  • Minimum three years of experience in a related field.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Self‑starter with excellent organization and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Team player committed to high‑level customer service.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Innovative mindset for process improvement.
  • Proficiency with an ERP system utilizing MRP or other replenishment tools.
Travel
  • Expected travel for this role is 0–10%.
