Job Title:

Sr. Member of Technical Staff – Electrical Design

Location: Onsite | Industry: Advanced Communications Technology

Position Overview

A global leader in high-reliability communications infrastructure is seeking a Sr. Member of Technical Staff to lead the electrical design of next-generation undersea products. This role focuses on developing fault‑tolerant analog and digital circuits—including microcontrollers, FPGAs, and electro‑optic components such as photodiodes and lasers—for use in extreme subsea environments.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams including electrical, mechanical, optical, and reliability engineers to deliver robust, production‑ready designs. The position also includes responsibility for verification and qualification planning, as well as authoring test plans to support manufacturing integration. This role reports to the Director of Lightwave Technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and simulate analog and digital circuits for high‑reliability applications
  • Plan and execute qualification testing for new product designs
  • Perform hands‑on experimental work on prototype components, circuits, and assemblies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Ensure all work aligns with company policies, procedures, and core values
Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience
Technical Skills
  • Expertise in electrical or mechanical engineering, data analysis, and computer programming
  • Strong experimental and laboratory skills
  • Proficient in soldering, circuit assembly, and wiring
  • Experience with single‑mode optical fiber, fiber optic components, and optical measurement techniques
Core Competencies
  • Self‑starter with a proactive approach to identifying and solving technical challenges
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to clearly articulate complex ideas
