RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) on 2nd floor of main building

• 3 OR suites specializing in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures

• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 3-4 RNs, 2 scrub techs, 1 aide or anesthesia tech

• Night shift operates with 3-member call team

• Patient ratio of 3 staff members per OR

• Call requirement approximately one weekend per month and 2-3 days per week

• 30-minute callback time requirement with flexible schedule expectations

• Must have cardiac, vascular, and thoracic operating room experience

• Scrubs provided by facility

• Work with open heart, vascular, and thoracic equipment

• Use Meditech EMR system

• Perform procedures including CABG, valve surgeries, TAVR, EVAR, TEVAR, carotid endarterectomy, fistula creation/interventions, VATS, thoracotomy, fem-pop bypass, angiograms with interventions, LVAD, RVAD, ECMO

• Provide Level 2 trauma coverage for all vascular and thoracic procedures

• Ability to scrub cardiac and vascular cases preferred

• Must be self-motivated, team-oriented, and flexible

• Time off requests must be included in contract

This regional medical center features a specialized cardiovascular surgery department with three dedicated operating suites equipped for complex cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures. The facility maintains a close-knit surgical team with experienced staff members, some with nearly 20 years of tenure. The CVOR operates with comprehensive call coverage including two RNs and a scrub tech on call every night, ensuring 24/7 readiness for emergency procedures and Level 2 trauma cases.
