To support substantial client care needs in Southern Ohio, we are seeking multiple skilled, compassionate, and professional Home Healthcare Aides to join our agency in a part-time capacity (20‑30 hrs/wk) to provide services to existing and new clients in Portsmouth, West Portsmouth, Lucasville, and surrounding communities.
We are looking for candidates who are dedicated, reliable, and eager to deliver high‑quality, person‑centered care. The role is long‑term, with the opportunity to expand to up to 40 hrs/wk after a successful initial 30‑day period. We value experience as a DSP, CNA, or STNA but welcome motivated non‑certified HHAs, PCAs, and caregivers committed to building their career with us. Travel to clients ranges from 5–30 minutes, with some cases up to 60 minutes, and mileage is reimbursed.
Job SummaryA successful Home Healthcare Aide provides personal care services under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Therapist. You will be assigned to specific clients to maintain their comfort and safety in their homes.
Responsibilities / Essential Functions- Assist with range‑of‑motion exercises and ambulation or other physical therapy tasks as directed.
- Perform personal care activities: bathing, shampooing, oral hygiene, shaving, dressing.
- Prepare and assist with meals and feeding.
- Help patients manage medications under RN supervision (open containers, hand patients, no administration).
- Follow infection control policies and report any changes in client condition to the RN.
- Document care and complete required forms promptly and accurately.
- Maintain a safe environment, following agency guidelines and reporting unsafe situations.
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, attend staff meetings, and participate in required training.
- Perform other duties as assigned and demonstrate good judgment and professionalism.
- Successful completion of a formal certification training program (CNA, STNA, HHA) or a written skills test and competency evaluation.
- At least 1 year of paid home health or independent provider experience preferred.
- Meet state training and certification requirements for the region where services are provided.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain before hire date).
- Strong attendance and dependability record.
- Good interpersonal skills and compassion for helping others live their best lives.
- Ability to read, write, and follow a written Plan of Care.
- Reliable, honest, professional, compassionate, detail‑oriented, accountable, friendly, respectful.
- Minimum age 18 years.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current driver’s license or State reliable transportation.
- Willingness to pass a background check.
Starting Pay Rate: $13.00 – $15.00 per hour, based on experience, certifications, and fit.
