Summary/Objective
Serves as a role model to persons with a mental health and/or substance use disorder to facilitate and promote recovery.
Essential Functions- Check in with shift prior for resident report and receive any added assignments.
- Oversee client medication, charting all incoming medications for medication compliance.
- Maintain residents' schedule for your shift.
- Observe and assure adherence to house rules.
- Responsible to respond when a resident is not upholding the Code of Conduct.
- Responsible to assist with monitoring residents for potential warning signs concerning recurrence of symptoms and refer them for more support.
- Check in with residents daily.
- Complete daily room checks.
- Room searches when requested by the evening supervisor, or any other safety reasons that should warrant suspicion.
- Complete bag search upon new admit and sanitizing.
- Review patient handbook and orient patient to the program.
- Responsible for monitoring all phone time and adherence to cell phone policy.
- Provide educational and support groups for patients.
- Responsible for stocking the supply closet.
- Oversee visitors and proper documentation for visits.
- Monitor all chores and work projects.
- Accompany clients to AA/NA meetings when applicable.
- Assist residents with recreational activities and other projects doing whatever possible to promote comfort, security, and rehabilitation.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some moving and stocking supplies is required. This would require the ability to lift supplies, stand, pull, push, bend or stoop as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkSome flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available for work second, third and overnight shifts, Monday thru Sunday.
TravelMinimal to moderate travel is required for this position.
Required Education And ExperienceThis position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
Preferred Education And ExperienceAt least one year of peer support experience and certification as a peer recovery support
