GENERAL SUMMARYWorks under the supervision of the Manager of Construction and Renovation. The Facilities Technician's primary job function is to make minor building modifications and/or improvements (i.e. add a door, move a wall, paint, etc). This may include repairing and/or maintaining hospital building using hand and power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments while following all safety precautions. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONSEducation:
- High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required
- Certificate of completion of vocational training in carpentry or related field preferred
Licensure:
- BMVL required (Must maintain eligibility to drive as determined by SOMC's insurance carriers)
- BLS Certification within the first year of employment required
- NFPA 70E (Low Voltage) Certification within 6 months of hire required
Experience:
- Work related experience required
- One year progressively more responsible related work experience necessary in order to gain knowledge of general construction trades and carpentry skills preferred.
