Fund Accountant

Location: Hilsea

An established and growing fund administration business is looking to expand its London Fund Accounting team with the appointment of a Fund Accountant. The role will provide broad accounting exposure across private equity, private credit and/or real estate fund structures and would suit someone who already has a solid grounding in fund accounting but is looking to develop their technical knowledge and take on greater portfolio responsibility.

You don't necessarily need to have covered every aspect of the position already. The business is open to candidates developing into the wider remit, provided they bring relevant fund accounting experience and a strong understanding of the fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities Prepare accounting records across a portfolio of alternative investment funds. Prepare bank and general ledger reconciliations. Produce periodic management accounts. Prepare quarterly investor reporting. Support the preparation of audited and unaudited annual accounts. Prepare fund drawdown and distribution notices. Support treasury and liquidity reporting. Assist with bridging facility management and associated compliance reporting. Respond to investor queries and support wider investor relations requirements.

Provide information to tax advisers in support of VAT and corporate tax returns. Review financial transactions prepared by junior members of the team. Work closely with auditors, tax advisers, lawyers and other external service providers. Support and train junior colleagues as experience develops. Proactively manage workloads to meet client and reporting deadlines. Contribute to projects focused on improving processes, policies and procedures.

Take increasing responsibility for the day-to-day accounting and delivery of an allocated portfolio. Candidate Profile We are particularly interested in candidates who have:
Previous fund accounting or accounting-led fund administration experience . Exposure to private equity, private credit/debt, real estate funds or other alternative investment structures would be advantageous. Experience preparing reconciliations, management accounts and/or fund reporting. An understanding of fund structures and the underlying accounting requirements. Progress towards an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification. Knowledge of technical accounting, including FRS 102 , would be beneficial.

Experience with Allvue, Investran or eFront would be advantageous but is not essential. Strong Excel and wider Microsoft Office skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines. A proactive and self-sufficient approach. Confidence working in a client-facing environment.
