We are looking for a dedicated Patient Service Administrator to join our team at Practice Plus Group. This role is essential in delivering a smooth, patient‑centred administrative service. You will support the daily running of our reception and administrative functions, ensuring every patient receives a professional, welcoming and efficient experience. Working under the guidance of the Administration Lead, you will help maintain high standards of confidentiality, accuracy and customer care.
Working hours for this role will be part-time of 15 hours, two days per week will be shifts
Week 1: 07:45-15:45
Week 2: 09:00-17:00
Week 3: 11:00-19:00
Candidate must be able to work all shift patterns and be available on a Saturday
What you’ll be doing- Greeting and registering patients promptly and courteously
- Accurately entering and updating patient details on our systems
- Maintaining a consistent presence at the front desk and responding to phone enquiries
- Processing referrals, forwarding reports and managing bookings with other healthcare providers
- Scanning, filing and tracking patient records to ensure complete and accurate documentation
- Handling general administrative tasks, supporting colleagues and providing cover where needed
- Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
- Communicating issues or concerns to the Administration Lead
- Taking part in mandatory training and supporting the induction of new staff
- A good general standard of education, including GCSE English & Maths (or equivalent)
- Experience in an administrative and customer care environment
- Strong communication skills—both written and verbal
- Accurate data entry and keyboard skills
- Excellent organisation and time‑management abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and within a multi-disciplinary team
- A friendly, adaptable and professional approach with excellent customer‑care skills
- Tact, discretion and a commitment to confidentiality
- Flexibility in working arrangements
- Experience working in a healthcare setting
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Experience in general office duties
