The Sizewell C Project Civil Works Programme (CWP), Main Civil Works (MCW) Project requires an experienced Construction and Logistics Lead to drive the delivery of construction and logistics for the Civil Works programme Main Civils Works Project, working in close collaboration with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA) and Site Operation teams.
The Construction and Logistics Lead primary responsibilities include:- Establishing the facilities, processes and arrangements to support construction within the Temporary and Main Construction Areas (TCA/ MCA)
- The development and systemisation of working arrangements to create ‘Best For Project’ ways of delivering the works.
- Oversight and Assurance of CWA principal construction delivery strategies.
- Defining the interface between the Sizewell Site Delivery team and the CWA so that there is a clear understanding of who does what for the project. This will include the arrangements for handing over of the ACA & TCA between the parties.
- Understanding the requirements for the whole of the project to define and establish the logistics team services.
- Providing expertise in construction and logistics management, drawn from best practice in the industry to optimise construction of the works. Learning from HPC and HS2 are both key inputs to the management of Sizewell.

- Site Wide Materials and Consumables
- Accommodation
- Security
- Transportation of materials and consumables to the site and around the site
- Site wide Emergency Arrangements
- Off Site storage
- Reinforcement and PCC Production Facilities
- Co-ordination with the Sizewell Site Delivery team relating to:
- How people get to work
- The office and operative accommodation within the site
- Security arrangements for the project and working areas
- The traffic management arrangements around the project
- Communicates the capability of the logistics function within the project team
- Manage the Budget and Schedule for the Logistics Function to include staff, premises, services and methodology.
The Civil Works Programme is responsible for delivering:
- Enabling and Earthworks: sea defences, access facilities, civil engineering work to support site establishment, diaphragm walling around the nuclear plant footprint, dewatering, excavation and earthworks.
- Tunnelling and Marine: beach landing facility, jetty, shafts and intake and outfall tunnels for the nuclear plant cooling systems.
- Main Civil Works: technical galleries, cooling system pipework, foundation base slab and over 70 large buildings for the nuclear plant.
To successfully deliver the Programme requires excellent coordination and integration with the Site Establishment, Site Operations, and Mechanical / Electrical / Heating (MEH) Alliance.
The execution strategy involves:- Maximising replication of HPC design to limit the extent of First of a Kind design to site‑specific elements.
- Introduction and establishment of a programme management structure.
- Using learning from the HPC project to optimise and simplify working practices and processes to maximise site productivity.
- Intelligent replication of the HPC supply chain.
- Joint commitment to truly collaborative working, and an Alliance delivery and commercial model that enables this.
