We are looking for a student to join the Representation Team in the support and delivery of the democratic representation structures at the University of Portsmouth Students’ Union and campaigns brought forward by elected representatives and students. The post holder will be responsible for the operational delivery of several aspects of the Union’s democratic representation processes and will also work closely with the Representation Specialists to deliver projects and events that support this.
The successful candidate will work closely with UPSU’s elected representatives, including Part Time Officers and Faculty Reps, in order to provide campaign direction and to offer guidance/advice on achieving their campaign aims.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and an ability to relate to students from all backgrounds.
- A considerable aspect of this role will involve student outreach; the post holder must be comfortable engaging with people and be committed to upholding high standards of customer service.
- You should be a well organised individual who is adaptable and flexible in their working styles, comfortable working independently and as part of the wider team.
- You’ll develop a wide range of invaluable skills in project delivery/support, campaigning, and outreach.
- You’ll gain excellent and wide ranging experience in the Higher Education and charitable sector, as well as helping to bring about change in a fast-paced and entertaining workplace.

- All new casual staff will receive a comprehensive induction training, as well as opportunities to meet elected officers and staff of the Union.
