Are you an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist looking for an exciting opportunity in a dynamic and supportive environment? Join our dedicated team at the Practice Plus Group Surgical Centre, where you'll play a key role in delivering high‑quality diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy services to NHS patients.
About the RoleAs a Consultant Gastroenterologist, you will:
- Deliver diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
- Ensure compliance with British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) guidelines and best practices.
- Collect and submit Global Rating Scale (GRS) and patient outcome data.
- Participate in clinical governance, audit, and service development.
- Provide expert clinical opinions and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Support the validation of discharge information and pathology results.
- Contribute to the analysis of incidents and complaints to maintain high standards of patient care.
- Work in a state‑of‑the‑art facility with modern equipment.
- Enjoy a strong multi‑professional team approach to patient care.
- Be part of a supportive management structure, including a Medical Director and Hospital Director.
- Access outsourced complex imaging and pathology support services.
- Work in partnership with Portsmouth Hospitals Trust for emergency transfers.
- Minimal on‑call responsibilities with a nurse‑led telephone triage service.
- GMC Specialist Register entry for General Surgery.
- Significant experience in upper and lower gastrointestinal conditions.
- Ability to offer expert clinical opinions and lead a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuing professional development and clinical governance.
- Experience in clinical audit and applying findings to practice.
- IT literacy and experience with electronic health records.
- Enthusiastic, motivated, and committed to high‑quality patient care.
