Applicants are invited to apply for a less-than full-time Consultant Rheumatologist at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. The successful applicant will join an existing team of eight consultants, over fifteen specialist nurses, one extended scope physiotherapist, four specialist trainees (three NTNs and one locally employed doctor), one-two GP trainees, one foundation trainee and a dedicated administrative team.
The Portsmouth Rheumatology department provides in-patient, outpatient, day case and fracture liaison services, offers multidisciplinary care, and has received multiple awards for supporting patients with auto‑immune, inflammatory and bone‑health conditions. The department is also actively engaged in research.

Main duties of the job- General Rheumatology clinics and linked administrative work
- Support for the delivery of day case activity delivered by the department
- Support for the whole rheumatology multi‑disciplinary team
- Support to emergency and inpatient care teams as required
- Supervision and training roles for resident doctors, specialist nurses, other health professionals delivering care to Rheumatology patients
- Support for admission avoidance activity in the department
- On‑call commitment for Rheumatology

Qualifications- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
- MRCP (UK) or equivalent
- Higher professional training in Rheumatology
- Any appropriate higher Rheumatology qualification such as certificates of training in use of ultrasound
- Entry on the GMC specialist register via CCT (proposed date must be within 6 months), CESR or European Community Rights
