This is an opportunity for full-time Specialty Trust Grade (Registrar) post:
Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team. The appointee will work together with 1 other General Adult Mental Health ST3+ trainees rotating through. The post holder will be required to demonstrate that they have experience in Psychiatry management and preferably will have MRCPysch or equivalent. The posts may be attractive to candidates who have completed Foundation and Core Medical competencies (or equivalent) and wish to gain further experience in Psychiatry before pursing ST3 training, or those who wish to work towards CESR in the specialty.
Although this is a non-training post, the successful candidate will be assigned a consultant educational supervisor and will be encouraged to maintain an educational portfolio with appropriate assessments to their level of experience. There are regular educational, clinical governance and departmental meetings, as well as Wessex study days. There are also a wide range of opportunities to participate in clinical audit and quality improvement projects.
duties of the job
- Provide Registrar level day to day care for General Adult Mental Health patients, together with ward rounds with the consultants
- Attend Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT) clinics
- Provide day to day clinical supervision of junior doctors in CRHTT
- Participation in MDT meetings
- Teaching experience through the junior doctor induction and education programme, journal club, and opportunities to teach on MRCP programmes within the Trust
- Audit and Clinical Governance
- Undergo regular appraisal throughout the post
- Attend Trust educational and departmental meetings.
- Demonstrate awareness of national and local guidelines relating to specialty (e.g. NICE guidelines) and influence care developments in accordance with these.
- Identify, contribute to or lead on aspects in the development and dissemination of evidence-based guidelines, standards and protocols as required and implement change to improve the quality of patient care.
- Attend local, regional and national networks/meetings
- Present at seminars/conferences/meeting

Person Specification Qualifications- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
- Primary medical qualification recognised by the GMC.
- MRCPsych OR MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
- Evidence of completion of Foundational level or Equivalent 2 year training programme.
- Demonstrate knowledge, skills and experience in General Adult Mental Health
- Knowledge of UK Hospital Systems (or equivalent)
