Academics is recruiting an English Intervention Lead in Portsmouth to support secondary school students through targeted English intervention. This is a flexible opportunity offering part-time or full-time work across secondary schools in Portsmouth.
The English Intervention Lead role in Portsmouth focuses on small-group support, helping students build confidence and improve attainment in GCSE English.
Responsibilities- Deliver targeted English intervention to small groups of secondary students
- Support reading, writing, literature and exam skills
- Work alongside English teachers and pastoral teams
- Monitor progress and provide feedback on student development
- Experience delivering English intervention or teaching at secondary level
- Strong understanding of GCSE English
- Confident, engaging and supportive approach
- QTS welcomed but not essential
- Flexible part-time or full-time opportunities
- Focused intervention work rather than full-class teaching
- Ongoing support from a dedicated Academics consultant
