The Role:We are seeking an ambitious and proactive individual to play a key role within the University of Portsmouth's IT team!
What You'll Do:- Assist students accessing the universities IT facilities and services.
- Provide friendly, professional and efficient face-to-face support.
- Collaborate with the LIS team to elevate complex issues and ensure timely resolutions.
- Contribute ideas for improving IT services.
- Valuable hands‑on experience in a professional IT environment.

This position is working on‑site only, so we are unable to support hybrid working for this appointment.
This appointment is a fixed‑term contract from 01 August 2026 to 31 August 2027.

New appointments will routinely be made to the entry spine point (minimum) for the advertised grade, from where the individual will (in addition to receiving annual cost‑of‑living‑related increases) progress through the pay range to the maximum for the grade, within a reasonable timeframe. This ensures fairness, consistency and transparency in our pay structures. A higher starting salary or market supplement may be available for a truly exceptional candidate when circumstances fully justify a departure from our normal policy.
