Location: Field‑based (Travel required)

Contract: Full‑time, Permanent

Are you passionate about raising standards in Health and Social Care? Do you love seeing others grow, achieve, and make a real difference? We’re looking for a motivated and inspiring Observation Assessor to join our dedicated Health & Social Care Apprenticeship team. This is a rewarding and dynamic role where you’ll travel to workplaces across your region, carrying out holistic observations of learners and helping them achieve one of the most important qualifications in their careers.

Responsibilities
  • Visiting workplaces to observe learners in real‑life care settings, ensuring they meet apprenticeship standards.
  • Providing clear, constructive feedback to support learner progression and achievement.
  • Planning and conducting progressive in‑person visits (average of 3 learners per day).
  • Managing time effectively to maximise travel efficiency and learning outcomes.
  • Ensuring all assessments meet Ofsted, awarding body, and internal quality standards.
  • Supporting with other key activities such as mock assessments, professional discussions, and learner reviews.
  • Promoting safeguarding and wellbeing at all times — making sure every learner feels supported and safe.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Genuine passion for education, quality, and empowering others to succeed.
  • Excellent planning, time management and communication skills.
  • Confidence working independently, with the flexibility to travel long distances and stay overnight when needed.
  • Assessor qualification (D32/D33, A1, TAQA, or CAVA).
  • Health & Social Care qualification at Level 3, 4 or 5.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the Health and Social Care sector (minimum Senior Carer level).
  • Minimum of 2 years' hands‑on experience in the adult or elderly Health & Social Care sector, including expertise in Dementia and Learning Disabilities, at a Senior Carer level or above.
  • Health & Social Care qualification at Level 5.
  • Previous experience in work‑based learning or education settings, with an Assessor qualification (CAVA, TAQA, A1, or equivalent).
  • Ideally hold a Level 3 or higher teaching qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong English and maths skills, preferably GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent).
