Lecturer in Automotive

The Automotive Department is a thriving and successful department forming part of our Highbury campus and vocational provision delivering Level 1 to Level 3 light vehicle maintenance qualifications alongside Level 1-3 Electric Vehicle awareness. We also have a fast‑growing apprenticeship programme for levels 2 and 3, providing high‑quality learning opportunities that meet the needs of individual students, apprentices and groups in line with the College’s strategic priorities and objectives.

Teaching and assessment duties include:

• Providing flexible assessment opportunities and closely planning, monitoring, tracking and recording student/apprentice retention, achievement, and success.
• Contributing to the development and delivery of high‑quality, relevant curriculum and programmes.
• Actively contributing to the development of new programmes within the curriculum area.
• Producing annual schemes of work and/or training plans for all subjects/programmes to be taught at Level 3 or higher in Automotive.
• Meeting targets within set timescales.
• Working well in teams while also being able to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Good understanding of IMI qualification and apprenticeship standards.
• Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
• Holder of an Assessors qualification; an IQA is desirable but not essential.
