Teachers Needed – Specialist Schools | Portsmouth

Hours: Full-time preferred (part-time opportunities also available)
Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Teachers to work within a range of specialist schools across the Portsmouth area.
We are looking for individuals who have experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Whether your experience comes from education, care, youth work, or a similar setting, we'd love to hear from you.
The RoleAs a Teacher
, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils.
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, and within whole-class settings.
- Create a safe, positive and stimulating learning environment.
- Promote pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs and other professionals to support individual learning needs.
- Encourage positive behaviour and build strong, supportive relationships with pupils.
- Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where required.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN and/or SEMH needs.
- A patient, resilient and positive approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children to achieve their potential.
- A willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (or already have one on the Update Service).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
