Teaching Assistants - English or Maths 37 hours a week, 38 weeks a year £21,585 (£25,685 pro rata) Fixed term 2 years Who are we looking for? Burton and South Derbyshire College is seeking to appoint dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our Maths and English curriculum teams to provide targeted support within lessons. The successful candidates will work closely with teaching staff, Additional Learning Support colleagues, and curriculum leaders to enhance the quality of teaching and learning, improve learner engagement, and support learners to achieve their full potential.

These roles have been introduced to further strengthen learner outcomes in English and Maths through high-quality in-class support. You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of inclusive and engaging lessons, working with individual learners and small groups to reinforce learning, build confidence, and accelerate progress. Particular emphasis will be placed on supporting learners who require additional academic support to achieve success in these essential subjects.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about their subject, committed to learner achievement, and able to build positive working relationships with both learners and staff. Strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to adapt to the needs of learners in a dynamic classroom environment are essential. A positive, flexible, and learner-centred attitude is key to success in this role, along with a commitment to supporting an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
