Student Support Officer Vacancy – All-Girls’ Secondary School

We are seeking an experienced, confident and dedicated Student Support Officer to join a highly regarded all-girls’ secondary school in Finchley
. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive professional who is passionate about supporting students and contributing positively to their wellbeing, attendance and overall school experience.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working within a secondary school environment
, supporting students across Years 7–11
. You will play an important role as a key worker for designated students, providing day-to-day support and acting as a trusted first point of contact for student support matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pastoral and day-to-day support to students across Years 7–11.
  • Act as a key worker for designated students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and engagement.
  • Supervise students as required and respond confidently to student support needs.
  • Liaise effectively with parents, social workers and other external professionals.
  • Maintain accurate student records and contribute to effective safeguarding and pastoral processes.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to promote positive student outcomes.
About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in a secondary school setting, ideally supporting students in Years 7–11.
  • Confident using SIMS, Microsoft Word and Excel
    .
  • Reliable, professional, highly organised and able to manage competing priorities.
  • A confident communicator with a strong personality and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and professionals.
  • Committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
  • Fully vetted and compliant with all safeguarding requirements.

Monday–Thursday: 8:00am–4:15pm
Friday: 8:00am–4:00pm
36 hours per week
, including a one-hour unpaid lunch break.

Contract: Temporary for one term in the first instance
Start: As soon as possible
Location: Finchley, London
