The Role We are looking for an organised, proactive Service Scheduler to join our Fire & Security team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating engineers, scheduling planned and reactive service visits, and ensuring customers receive a professional and efficient service. You will work closely with engineers, customers, account managers and the wider operations team to keep the service department running smoothly.

This is a fast-paced role where strong organisation, communication and attention to detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities Schedule and coordinate daily workloads for Fire & Security service engineers. Allocate reactive call-outs and planned maintenance visits based on priority, location, engineer availability and skill set. Manage engineer diaries and ensure appointments are scheduled efficiently. Liaise with customers to arrange service, maintenance and repair visits. Respond to customer queries by telephone and email in a professional and timely manner.

Monitor outstanding jobs and ensure engineers have the correct information before attending site. Reschedule appointments where required and communicate changes clearly to customers and engineers. Prioritise emergency and urgent call-outs in line with agreed response times and customer service-level agreements. Coordinate planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits and ensure they are completed within required time frames. Work closely with engineers to understand job requirements, parts requirements and estimated durations.

Keep customers updated on engineer attendance and job progress. Monitor engineer utilisation, travel time and geographical location to maximise efficiency. Liaise with the service team regarding outstanding quotations, follow-on works and remedial requirements.
