Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Clean Water Hydraulic Modeller to set the technical direction for their modelling capability, aligned with national standards and evolving best practice.
This is a pivotal role within Asset Management, shaping how data, insight and innovation are used to understand and optimise the potable water network. You’ll provide strategic and technical leadership, develop the modelling capability for the future, and play a key role in strengthening the wider Asset Intelligence function.

Key Responsibilities- Provide technical and strategic leadership for the Hydraulic Modelling function, including internal and external service provision.
- Maintain high‑quality model calibration through live modelling and ongoing model maintenance.
- Act as the subject matter expert for potable hydraulic systems, providing direction across the business.
- Develop and grow modelling capability in line with industry needs and emerging technologies.
- Support the continued development of the wider Asset Intelligence department.
- Guide modelling tasks and oversee junior modellers, ensuring robust quality assurance.
- Train and support junior staff in modelling tools and best practice.
- Drive delivery of ancillary technical projects and modelling programmes, including managing and liaising with modelling consultants.
- Strong experience with Info Works Pro, including:
- User Programmable Controls
- Open Data Import/Export Centre (including scripts and SQL)
- Live data configuration - Experience processing and analysing telemetry / SCADA data (flow, pressure, levels etc.), including demand analytics and studies.
- Recent clean water network model building experience, including updating from CAD/GIS and model calibration.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including report writing and presenting to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to provide technical direction and deliver hydraulic modelling programmes.
- Proactive approach and enthusiasm for developing a modelling team and supporting wider departmental growth.
- Experience of UK water regulatory requirements and their impact on water utilities.
- Familiarity with relevant British Standards and clean water network modelling specifications used by UK water companies.
