Contract Design Engineer, commutable from Portsmouth, Southampton, Winchester, Worthing areas

• 6 – 8 months contract role.

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with Inventor CAD experience to work on the design of cutting‑edge engineering platforms and mechanical systems.

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong Inventor CAD skills.
• A background in mechanical systems design.
• Experience designing moving mechanisms – sliding systems, actuators, ejector assemblies or similar technology is highly advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in dynamic, fast‑moving teams.

• Developing detailed mechanical designs for pressure‑rated subsea sliding doors and ejector mechanisms.
• Creating, refining and releasing high‑quality CAD designs, models and drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
• Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, systems, electrical) to integrate mechanical assemblies into larger vehicle platforms.
