Infrastructure Engineer - (need to be able to obtain SC Clearance)

Salary: Up to £60,000 + benefits

A leading organisation in the Defence & Security sector is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer (IT/Server Engineer) to join their team in Portsmouth. This is a great opportunity to work in a high-impact environment supporting critical IT projects and programmes, delivering infrastructure solutions across the full lifecycle.

You’ll work closely with project managers and technical leads to provide technical leadership and hands‑on support, helping deliver complex technical tasks and outcomes on time and within budget.

• Provide technical leadership and support to IT projects/programmes
• Lead small projects (or work streams within larger programmes), guiding a small technical team
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders/customers
• Identify issues early, propose pragmatic solutions, and deliver quality outputs
• Support delivery across the full lifecycle (conception through to in‑service)

• Proven communication skills and ability to convey complex technical information clearly
• Experience working across a range of engineering/technical projects
• Broad IT knowledge and ability to apply best practice to infrastructure delivery
• Strong motivation/drive to resolve issues and keep delivery on track
• Commercial awareness relevant to IT/infrastructure delivery
• Degree in Science/Engineering (or equivalent recognised professional qualification)
