Senior Civil Engineer – Portsmouth

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (DOE) + Benefits. Full‑time, permanent, hybrid working.

You’ll join a growing civil engineering consultancy delivering development‑led infrastructure projects across residential, commercial, and mixed‑use schemes. The team is expanding due to sustained project wins, creating a genuine opportunity for someone who wants ownership, progression, and a varied workload.

YOUR NEW ROLE
  • Lead the design of drainage, highways, external works, and development infrastructure.
  • Oversee projects from early feasibility through planning and technical approval.
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines, external consultants, and project stakeholders.
  • Review and sign off technical designs, drawings, and reports.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support capability development within the team.
  • Prepare fee proposals and contribute to client relationship management.
  • Attend meetings and occasional site visits as required.
ABOUT YOU
  • Degree or HND in Civil Engineering.
  • IEng or working towards (desirable).
  • 5+ years experience in a consultancy environment.
  • Strong background in development infrastructure design.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and 3D design software (Site3D, Civil 3D or similar).
  • Solid understanding of SuDS, Building Regulations, MfS, DMRB and relevant standards.

  • Clear communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, budgets and multiple live projects.

SALARY & BENEFITS
  • £50,000 – £60,000 (DOE).
