Accounts Assistant – Portsmouth – £35,000
Full Time | Office-Based
Permanent Role | Immediate Start Available

We are recruiting for a Financial Accounts Assistant to join a well-established, successful and growing business based in Portsmouth. You'll join a supportive finance team, working closely with the Financial Director in a varied and hands-on role where your contribution will be valued.

The Role:

You will support the day-to-day running of the finance function, including:

  • Managing sales and purchase ledger
  • Processing invoices and payments
  • Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting with month-end processes
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Supporting VAT and CIS returns
  • Handling customer and supplier queries
The Person :
  • 3+ years experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Experience with accounts payable, receivable and reconciliations
  • Comfortable supporting month-end processes
  • AAT Level 3 or 4 (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and organised approach
  • Confident using accounting software (Xero experience beneficial)
