About The Role

Go Car Credit is a specialist motor finance lender supporting those with less than perfect credit scores to get behind the wheel. Our hire purchase deals don’t just get people a great car – they give people the chance to rebuild their credit score too.

To support strategic growth, we’re looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Portsmouth office.

Providing a vital role in processing receipts and other transactions associated with customer loan balances in an accurate and timely manner. This provides customer facing departments with reporting through our systems which is up to date and correct.

In addition, reporting is required for our funders and other stakeholders. The role holder will take responsibility for producing accurate and timely information through our systems and accounting records.

Working hours are 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, however due to the nature of the role we would expect some flexibility.

• Processes customer bank payments and loads onto the finance software system.
• Processes customer direct debits payments and loads onto the finance software system.
• Clears temporary receipt postings to appropriate customer loans once identified.
• Effectively processes customer settlement figures into the finance software system.
• Preparing and posting payments to dealers/brokers.
• Effectively processes closure advice notices from Recoveries into the finance software system.
• Preparing refunds for customers and creating journals.
• Assisting with month end finance system closures.
• Reconciling card payment using Sage and the finance software system.
• Reconciling new originations using Excel and Sage.
• Managing the Finance inbox and dealing with all queries.
• Develops own knowledge of Finance systems and processes to support colleagues.
• Processes sales invoices and remittance advices from auction houses.

• Strong attention to detail, ensuring financial data is accurate, complete, and consistently maintained to a high standard.
• Works collaboratively with colleagues to achieve tasks.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel
