I am pleased to share an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor based in Portsmouth. This position is being offered on a permanent basis for a salary of 33-35k with great benefits & plays a key role in promoting a strong safety culture across operations and supporting continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Promote a positive safety culture and embed health, safety, and wellbeing into day-to-day operations, supporting ISO 45001 improvements and workforce engagement.
• Ensure full legislative compliance through risk assessments, statutory inspections, incident reporting, and contributing to assurance reports and KPIs.
• Support safe contractor management and collaborate with Estates and Facilities teams to maintain statutory compliance in line with IWFM best practice.
• Deliver or coordinate safety training and awareness campaigns, acting as a key point of contact for safety queries and promoting safe working behaviours.
• Assist with incident investigations, emergency planning, and regulatory inspections, ensuring thorough documentation and follow-up actions.
• Support environmental policy and compliance, promoting safe and sustainable working environments.
Essential Requirements:
• Ability to travel between multiple sites as required.
• NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in health & safety within construction, engineering, estates, or facilities management.
• Confident in designing and delivering inductions and safety training for staff and contractors.
• Strong understanding of UK health & safety legislation (HASAWA, COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, WAH, Fire Safety).
• Experience in environmental management.
• Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office/365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
