Position: Patient Safety and Governance Healthcare Professional (Part Time)

Patient Safety and Governance Healthcare Professional (Part Time)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Patient Safety and Governance healthcare Profession alto join our growing Quality & Governance team at an exciting time of change and development.

This part-time role offers a unique opportunity for a registered healthcare professional, such as a paramedic, pharmacist, nurse, or allied clinician, to apply their clinical expertise beyond direct patient care and influence safety, quality, and governance across primary and urgent care services. You will work across multiple sites and services, supporting two established organisations as they come together to form South Coast Alliance in April 2026.

Working closely with the Head of Clinical & Quality Delivery, you will play a key role in patient safety, clinical risk management, incident and complaint review, audit, policy development, and regulatory compliance, including CQC standards. You will help ensure that clinical practice is safe, evidence-based, and consistently delivered across the organisation.

You’ll be trusted to work autonomously, supported by an experienced leadership team, and given the opportunity to shape governance systems during a period of meaningful change. We offer flexible working, exposure to a wide range of clinical services, and the chance to make an impact on patient safety and quality at a system level.

Main duties of the job

This role supports patient safety, clinical quality, and governance across primary and urgent care services.

Working alongside the Head of Clinical & Quality Delivery, you will help review clinical incidents and complaints, support audit and quality improvement activity, and contribute to meeting regulatory and professional standards. You will provide clinical input into policies and guidance, helping to ensure safe, consistent, and evidence-based practice across services and sites.

The role also involves supporting medicines management oversight, clinical competency processes, and workforce compliance, including induction and mandatory training. You will work closely with clinical and operational colleagues, attend governance meetings, and contribute to a learning culture focused on safety, improvement, and high-quality patient care.

This is an ideal opportunity for a healthcare professional looking to apply their clinical expertise at an organisational level and make a wider impact on patient safety and service quality.
