Key Responsibilities – Nursing Home Manager (Portsmouth)

Full operational and clinical management of a nursing home in Portsmouth

Act as CQC Registered Manager

Maintain and enhance CQC compliance, governance, and quality standards

Lead, motivate, and develop nursing, care, and support staff

Ensure delivery of outstanding person-centred nursing care

Oversee clinical audits, risk management, and quality assurance

Manage staffing, recruitment, retention, and performance

Build strong relationships with residents, families, GPs, and external professionals

Manage budgets, occupancy, and overall home performance

Prepare for and lead CQC inspections

Essential Requirements

Nurse qualified (RGN, RMN, or RNLD) – essential

Experience as a Nursing Home Manager, Care Home Manager, or Deputy Manager

Strong understanding of CQC regulations, clinical governance, and safeguarding

Proven leadership and people-management skills

Passion for high-quality nursing and elderly care

Right to work in the UK

Desirable Experience

Experience managing a fully compliant or Good/Outstanding CQC-rated nursing home

Strong clinical leadership background

Budget, occupancy, and performance management experience

Knowledge of local healthcare services in Portsmouth and Hampshire
