Junior Network Engineer

The Role

Join us as a Junior Network Engineer at our Portsmouth site, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting‑edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.

As a Junior Network Engineer you will be joining the LAND Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) programme delivering a flexible and agile system of systems that will enable the Army from 2035 and beyond to FIND the enemy across all the domains it will operate in.

• Responding to technical support calls from end users of computers and software applications
• Setting up and installing new computers, networks and software and follow work instructions to change components
• Installing updates and patches to software and hardware applications
• Diagnosing and fixing network problems and hardware or software faults
• Maintain network connectivity and accurately record changes
• Fault finding network and hardware issues

• Experience of working within an IT service desk/help desk environment
• WINTEL, VMware and implementation experience
• Knowledge and understanding of the design, implementation and troubleshooting of Hierarchical IP Subnetting and Routing protocols including OSPF and BGP
• Knowledge of routers, switches and firewalls
• Professional interpersonal/communication skills to convey technical information
• Positive attitude and determination to see issues addressed successfully

• Holds Networking certification eg.
  
  CCNP or similar

• This role is 37 hours per week based vel to other Qineti
  
  Q and customer sites will be expected.
• Applicants must be eligible for SC clearance as a minimum.
• Many roles in Qineti
  
  Q are subject to national security vetting being completed. Applicants who already hold the appropriate level of vetting may be able to transfer it upon appointment.
