Quality Inspector – Paint & Prep Automotive Manufacture

Overview

Overall Purpose of role

Visual inspection of Moulded prepped polymer & carbon parts. Ensure parts are ready for Paint Line.

• Visually inspect prepped parts prior to being handed to the paint line
• Ensuring documentation is completed correctly, including traceability data
• Address all customer requirements
• Dealing with customer queries and complaints
• Identify flaws in Moulded parts and liaise with Mouldshop department to help establish route cause
• Day to day interaction with the Javelin MRP system and QMS database to ensure ongoing compliance. Making amendments to documentation of non-compliance or process improvement
• Knowledge of ISO 9001/ IATF 16949
• Assist in the NPI process for all new parts being introduced into the Prep Area
• Assist in the improvement of skill sets within the Prep Team

• Technical knowledge and surface preparation
• Inspection equipment proficiency
• Knowledge of quality standards and documentation
• Attention to detail

• Experienced in the use of standard measuring equipment and processes (Mic’s, Vernier calipers etc.)
• Basic knowledge of ISO
  9001 & IATF 16949 requirements is a distinct advantage
• Interaction with MRP/ERP systems (Javelin preferably)
• Good computer literacy in particular all MS Office programs
• Experience working with injection moulding or plastic assembly processes
• Experience working with carbon components
• Open and approachable communication abilities
• Able to work well alone and in a team
