Day Shift (Mon–Thu, 07:00–16:30)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a CNC / Manual Lathe Machinist to join a specialist barrel manufacturing facility in Portsmouth. You’ll be working on precision components in a clean, focused machine shop environment, producing high-quality barrels to tight tolerances on a stable, four-day week day shift.

The Role

Operate CNC and manual lathes to manufacture high-precision barrels.
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to produce parts right first time.
Use a range of precision measuring instruments (micrometers, verniers, gauges) to maintain tight tolerances.
Work to established safety, quality and housekeeping standards within the machine shop.
Plan and manage your day-to-day workload to ensure smooth workflow and on-time delivery.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience in CNC and manual lathe machining in a production or precision engineering environment.
Confident reading and understanding engineering drawings.
Proficient with precision measuring tools.
Fanuc control experience is essential.

Experience with XYZ Prototrack and Heidenhain controls is highly advantageous.
Quality-focused, reliable and able to work independently as well as part of a small team.
