Location:
Portsmouth
Salary: £30,000 - £36,000 + Overtime

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Miller/Setter to join a busy precision engineering machine shop in Portsmouth. You’ll be working on high-quality, tight-tolerance components, setting and operating CNC milling machines in a clean, well-organised production environment.
The Role
Set and run CNC milling machines (Bridgeport with Heidenhain controls).
Work safely within a machine shop environment, following all health, safety and quality procedures.
Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
Use precision measuring instruments (e.g. micrometers, verniers, gauges) to maintain tight tolerances.
Manage day-to-day workload on your machines, ensuring efficient workflow and minimal downtime.
Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
Communicate clearly with supervisors, colleagues and inspection teams.
About You
Proven experience as a CNC Miller in a production or precision engineering environment.
Confident interpreting engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances.
Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment.
Heidenhain control experience is essential.
Additional experience on other CNC machines (lathes, EDMs, etc.) is highly advantageous.
Reliable, quality-focused and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Monday to Thursday (Days) 7am - 4.30pm
Overtime available at x 1.5
Due to the nature of the work a full police check will be conducted if successful and can take up to 6 weeks
